Fear is last!

Melbourne has been inundated with a lot of rain this week, and while I am not usually worried, where we live is what is deemed a "flood zone". So, we need to be extra careful in our backyard and walking around in our neighbourhood. To combat the heavy rains, there is a retarding basin or a man-made lake if you will.

The lake is surrounded by small appartment houses and light industrial buildings, so the rain is a concern not only to us across the road, but those who live close by. Naturally, we are fearful of what can potentially happen. But a saying (courtesy of Lisa McInnes-Smith) says "Love will not debate what goes first, fear will". Love trumps everything.

Melbourne's weather will always be up and down, but we can always trust God to protect us even when life throws uncertainty in the form of finances, opportunities, and relationships. We may not be able to do much about them, but God is gracious and loving and we can count on His strong refuge.
