Hidden gems!

Taking a break can be seen as necessity, especially in the current world we live in. It is not our intention to stop, but we must nonetheless, and for those who are fasting, it can be an opportunity to plug in to God. It is very tempting to get many of the odd jobs done or start new projects, but are we looking for what God wants? Are we praying and seeking to what God is trying to say in His Word? While we are tempted to rush our time, it is these golden moments, that the hidden gems start to come to the surface.

Anyone that has seen documentaries or shows on those intrepid miners seeking fortune know it is backbreaking work and a lot of the time it yields very small returns. Once in a while, the "motherlode" is found and generates excitement. God's Word can be likened to mining for those hidden gems. We cannot rush reading the most precious literature ever written and in our times of quiet, we have the best chance to soak it in and let the Holy Spirit minister to our tired and weary souls. No one knew better than solitude to dig in better than Jesus, who often withdrew to lonely places to pray and meditate.

In the season of Easter that is almost upon us, why not see what gems God shows you and how you can share them with others? It might be the most exciting thing they hear!
