Still bearing fruit!

I came across this quote that I will add "Be diligent about your work and trust God for the results. Fruit needs time in the sun to ripen". This quote reminded me of a lemon tree in our backyard and it had not borne any fruit since we moved in. Several years had passed and we had been patient, but nothing had happened. I remembered in the Old Testament about growing, so I dug around the tree, add fertilizer and then prayed over it. In no time at all the tree grew blossoms that turned into fruit. Instead of pulling the fruit off I let it go back into the ground, much to my families dismay. "Watch and see" I said and sure enough the fruit was stronger the next season! It is important to remember mission and ministry is not ours, it is God's and letting go and allowing him to do the work is vital for growth. As I was serving in Children's Ministry these thoughts came back to me as a parent told me how much of a difference I made in her two sons and then in both her life and her husband's! No matter what we do for God, we need to keep bearing fruit!
